The Brave Little Toaster? The Brave Little Toaster. Maybe a touch of American Gods too. Jokes aside, this actually goes hard.🎵Consumer of life, hold my hand, extend your rights / It's the power to purchase to excess/ That sets you apart and can give you the ultimate high" 🎵

I don't even know what is more tasteless: the message about consumerism itself or trying to get it across via a spoken word that goes on and on and on and on.

Oh god, he even needed a Famous Person to perform that. Radio edit is a good idea, didn't think of that.

Good out in public though! Shuts out the noise of the city and gives an unbalanced treble+bass boost when you want to feel a little metal ;)

First listen was punchy, riff kinda hooked me hard. Did not pay so much attention to the lyrics. Second listen: masterpiece. Master fucking piece. Period. Listening to this while walking on Sydney streets watching people or walking through a mall is what I'll do next, just to put some real context to it.

now I pick up this vibes here: Raven Maize- The real life and U.S.U.R.A VS SIMPLE MINDS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkJYX2x-g9M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVG6BhNXLYU decent track anyway... hopefully gig will not get cancelled in september.

Kinda agree. It is somehow all a bit too obvious. Although I think the lyrics do have a nice flow to them and I can't help but bop along :)

Very much a grower. I didn't really feel it at first, but after repeat listens I like it a lot more. 👍 It's very fuck Consumerism, and a lot of Apple mockery, which I always welcome. And frankly, look at this song and think about how it must be in context, as opposed to a single. Steven Wilson has dropped other singles that end up feeling a lot bigger after it's contextual and you see it as part of album's concept/theme. I can't wait to see the rest of this record. His sound really seems to be changing when you think back to No Grace for Drowning or The Raven, but I think it's experimental and pretty interesting. I couldn't get Permanating out of my head for like an entire year, lol.

Synth-work and production are top notched. Color me intrigued about the direction.

Well, that was... Weird. Not really sure about the bridge. The rest is an interesting evolution of To the Bone vibe. Which is not exactly bad, though, but still... Weird.
