"Snowblind Friend" is an anti-drug song written by American musician Hoyt Axton. The version by Steppenwolf appears on their 1970 album "Steppenwolf 7". It was Steppenwolf's second cover of one of Axton's anti-drug songs , the first being "The Pusher" which appeared in the 1969 movie Easy Rider.

The band originally consisted of John Kay (vocals, guitar), Michael Monarch (guitar), Rushton Moreve (bass), Goldie McJohn (keyboards) and Jerry Edmonton (drums).
