I always knew Barrett's Privateers but recently started listening to his other stuff. Impressive.

Stan has been a favourite of mine since University and beyond. though I never had the opportunity to see him play, I have seen his brother Garnet twice. It's nice to see the legacy live on within the family.

Lock-Keeper is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. I only discovered Stan a few years ago and immediately wondered where his music had been all my life. Heartbroken he's not here to see his legacy, but relieved that he left his gifts of song for us to enjoy. One of the greatest!

If you love Stan's music, make sure to check out his son's work. http://www.nathanrogers.ca/home.html He has a wonderful voice, just like his dad.

sunshinejaye: I've never seen a documentary on him, but the story I had heard was that when the plane went down, he got out okay but kept going back in over and over to rescue others until he finally succumbed and didn't make it back out. Now I'm torn. I wonder if it was a combination of the two stories?

great artist but I watched a documentary on the airplane fire that killed him and apparently it was his smoking in the bathroom onboard that caused the fire and killed himself and other passengers.
