It's nice that they were able to break through at a time when the fun spirit was largely purged from rock n roll with the tidal wave of grunge sweeping through the early 90s. The Pocketful of Kryptonite album has lost none of its magic all these years later - still sounds fresh, lively & jubilant. Great musicianship & catchy as hell, to boot!

I remember I was a part of this low budget camp program during the summer in the suburbs of southern New York, the camp was at an elementary school. My camp counselor was a fan of this band and I remember he put on whichever hit song was popular around the early 1990's. It was for some performance on stage where we had to dance and we rehearsed in a classroom. That was my earliest exposure to the Spin Doctors. They sounded okay to me, they didn't have the much of an impact on me as a child. I was more into the Spinning Wheel by Blood, Sweat and Tears. That was a song used for a performance at that same camp program. Not sure if it was with that same camp counselor or a different camp counselor another year.

Yeah the musicianship is extremely good. 1st albums pretty fun and upbeat but I don't know what's wrong with that... I LOVED this band and listened to them a lot as a toddler, like literally around the age of 2 and 3. Now I'm 24 and still have an appreciation for it. Not many people can say that about the artists they liked when they were 2 & 3 years of age, LOL

Really good band, a little bit underrated in my opinion. I think this is what happens when a band has one or two very successful songs early in their career. The companies always want more and more, and the bands usually are forced to write and record new material with no the appropiate time.

"Two Princes" will always be one of those songs that remind me of the 1990s as well as my childhood.

Every time I hear one of their songs on the radio I want to barricade the doors of an orphanage and burn it to the ground and snort the ashes.
