I wasn't expecting SY to bring such grooves, and I love it. I thought this would be a Teenage Jesus-like record, but it's way more reminiscent of Metal Box, which is way more satisfying

One of my all time FAVorite Sonic [fzcking] Youth albums, (& a fav of all time & space.) Appropriately, it's sorta technically thee first, ever! Originally, this album, on cassette, was just the 1st 5 tracks (sideA had 5tracks, sideB had the same 5 tracks... BACKWARDS!) recorded around 1986. I had it on cassette. . . I've just recreated sideB, as I lost that tape ~1999... & I'm trying to name/tag it properly in a way that last.fm will recognize & scrobble... no luck so far, but I will keep trying. any tips?? (check it out: http://www.sonicyouth.com/mustang/lp/ep1.html )

i'm kinda obsessed with Richard Edson... both he and Lee wrote the words to Dream

I think this is very interesting, sort of reminds me of joy division, but with less classical melodies and stuff. Very good record!

i miss my SST cassette copy. side-b has the whole of side-a in reverse. many an evening was spent in the dark listening to the sounds. the odd bit was that i bought the thing at a SE Tennessee mall music store called Record Bar. dosh well spent.
