Biography
solar moon is a production collective from cologne/germany, operating live and in the studio since the mid-nineties. after playing numerous soundsystem-based gigs at various high profile festivals like summer jam, phaze, jazz fest wien, lovefield, kickzone a.o., solar moon released the first album "logbook" in 2000 on klaus schulze's label rainhorse records. the videoclip to the song "solar moon" rotated on german music television station viva zwei, and solar moon also provided a special dj selection for viva "vs." (formerly known as "2step"). in fact, solar moon also was the first band to ever play live on viva’s famous overdrive format in 1998.
over the years, solar moon bred various party concepts including deejaying, live visuals and light design. with their trademark sound incorporating dub, midtempo breakbeat and deep house, solar moon has delivered remix work for bands and projects like aisan underground stars joi, vienna-based dubster waldeck, cologne's very own trance groove and world music legends die dissidenten. solar moon also provided the music to the well-known cinema ad by jack wolfskin in 2001. in 2002, solar moon was asked to score a movie on the late german advertising- and design legend charles wilp (film: "artronaut 2000 X”).
the new solar moon album "guestbook" unites various special solar moon friends and guest artists like former incognito-chanteuse joy malcolm (now singing with waldeck), washington poet jennifer schwed, berlin-based diva amé toki (formerly 'missy moana'), afro-german reggae crooner don abi and german electronic music pioneer klaus schulze a.o. with the latter, solar moon also recorded and produced various longplayers for the klaus schulze-10CD-set
