Soda Stereo was the band's self-titled album released under the record label « CBS Discos » on August 27, 1984. The production was in charge of Federico Moura, vocalist and leader of Virus.
The album is characterized by having humorous and ironic lyrics, inspired by ska, reggae and new wave that was presented in Argentina thanks to The Specials, Madness and The Police that later would help their aesthetic image.
