This song is off Slum Village’s 2000 album "Fantastic Vol. 2". It’s a diss directed at Proof’s rap group, 5 Elementz, and one of Slum Village’s staple songs.
Legendary producer J Dilla samples “Clair” by the Singers Unlimited, an acapella group, and plays a pretty good mind game with the listener: throughout the whole song, the sample is treated as if it says “players” instead of “clair.”
