If you can just turn the critical part of your mind off, this is fun caveman death metal.

Know-Nothing Ingrate is significantly better than anything off the last record. Yeah, Six Feet Under is so hit or miss. The new song is 100% a hit.

Yeah, even though I dug the "Zodiac" serial killer theme, Barnes sounds almost chill and regular in their new joint, which is dope. Lookin forward to that new plate droppin!

I personally loved it, it's way better than whatever was the last song off the last record that was revealed first at the time.

Six Feet Under is absolute sincerity, it sounds like what a serial murderer would sound like if he sung death metal without any expertise.

Chris Barnes might be a fucking dickhead and their last album was a colossal monkey's paw style disaster, but that's not to take away that much of their discography is relatively underrated...and yes that includes their absolutely hilarious Back in Black cover album.

The only dude in death metal who truly understands "art" is Chris Barnes. Art is meant to be art - it is not meant to be appreciated. -Written under influence.

Normalizing SFU is necessary because they have the potential to be a world class death metal band: https://youtu.be/uq0fMaGZhDI?si=hP9s6CmrTrpNYdOh

Back to listening to them thanks to discovering Cryptkicker's cover version of War is Coming!

hipsters will never grasp the quintessence of this band. "Listen to Cannabis Corpse" they say, I listened to Cannabis Corpse when you were unborn, at the concert in Russia, with vodka in the thermos and a bong full of weed! Chris Barnes is a legend. Cannibal Corpse set the bar high, but Six Feet Under polished that bar. He IS Cannibal Corpse six feet under. To me this is the definitive sound of death metal, classic death hits with refined killer vocals, like The Evil That Men Do and Bastard. Six Feet Under is to death metal what Venom is to black metal.

Barnes' voice starts failing a single album in, the lyrics are like if a mental retard wrote them, and the songwriting itself is jarring. I love it!

damn I did the same and it just reinforced how bad they are for me. There was decent stuff here and there but it didn't make up for the overwhelming amount of absolute garbage.

There is definitely some bad but a lot of it is very solid. Haunted is especially fantastic

And there is definitely a lot of good comedic value especially the most recent record.

Except for Slowly We Rot. That album is just too legendary for me to not love. Everything else Obituary has done is just too fucking slow for my liking.

I found out there's a Six Feet Under before the one most people know. They were a rock band from 1969-1970. https://www.last.fm/music/Six+Feet+Under/In+Retrospect+1969-70

I like this band but good lord, "Nightmares of the Decomposed" was a colossal disappointment for two songwriters behind some of the greatest songs in the early Cannibal Corpse discography.

Chris Barnes was selling cars at park auto mall, until Seth Putnam paid him a visit.

13 and Bringer of Blood are great albums. Have you guys skipped those while listening to them?

Is it serious that people really listen to a death metal band and expect to understand what they sing? I wouldnt mock the guy for mading albums full of covers or Eeeeee eeeeeee.

Barnes really needed Rob Arnold and/or the Cannabis Corpse dudes to stick around a bit longer in the songwriting camp.
