So pretentious and pseudointellectual... Probably my least favorite Simon&Garfunkel song :/

Is it just me or does anyone else get goosebumps when the line "you're a stranger now unto me" is sung? There's just something about Garfunkel's beautifully haunting backing vocal there that gets me every time.

Like a poem poorly written / We are verses out of rhythm, / Couplets out of rhyme, / In syncopated time

The first time I ever heard this song, a man was singing it on a rooftop in Athens, Greece where I was on a school trip. The words stuck with me for days until I got home and got to a computer to find out the name of the song. That was when I fell in love with S&G. Now I always associate this song with the best summer of my life, oddly enough.

I agree, This song is the song I replay over and over before I continue with the album listening.

And then we dance, with flowers in our hair, singing for one another... they are too much those Garfunk(?)els

Just pretend they're talking about two rival football teams, or two flavors of mountain dew., maybe two types of snack foods like cool ranch vs nacho cheese doritos . Y'know something on your level
