A natural born carioca, Silvia Machete is a talent of international proportions! Seven years ago, Miss Machete left behind the city of Rio for the big top of Manhattan, where she currently lives, works and plays.
There you can often find her in her little red dress, twirling her hoops and strumming a sensuous guitar! (How can she possibly carry this arsenal of amusement while wearing such high heels?) Silvia has since traveled to more than 30 countries, winning numerous awards and leaving crates of devoured bananas in her wake.
In her show, Silvia gets to do a few of her favorite things: entertain the crowd, hoop her hoops and, of course, sing her songs (both proper and improper). However, with Silvia Machete, one thing is for sure: she is always romantic.
This past winter, Silvia escaped to Rio to perform the show "Cabare Bambole" (along with some research time at the beach) and to record her first album: "Bomb of Love". On this recording she is accompanied by six hot cats from Brazil: Rubinho JAcobina (piano), Nelson JAcobina (guitar), Domenico (drums), Stephen (percussion), BArtolo (bass) and Thiago (trumpet). With the recording of this album and ever-evolving show to accompany it, Silvia will never sit still! The “babe from Brazil” will continue on with her adventures, always returning to her favorite towns in the world: New York and Rio de Janeiro.
