I listened to it recently, years after its release and I still say: this is bad. But it's not bad beacuse of Sisely, I must say. It's bad because they tried to follow a trend that was dying (that emo-hardcore-whiny kind of rock). Fortunately, there are a couple of good tracks here: Ricochet, Frozen Oceans, Turned to Real Life. The rest is just bland, boring, uninspired, like a lor of crap that came out on that same period. I totally see why it got so much hate: they went from something really fun, danceable and, in some ways, unique, to... this. I was frustrating. I think it made them lose their momentum big time, which is why III passed by and a lot of people missed it (they really tried to recapture the magic from WAP). Anyways, I hope they come back and do another album!

Just took the plunge on this one recently, having loved We Are Pilots and III, and intrigued by the notion of STG tackling a different sound with a different female vocalist. I found a lot to like on this album. It's not as different from their typical sound as I was expecting, but definitely more guitar-heavy. Not at all bad, though. Some of the tracks are initially off-putting, but I have very wide musical tastes, so they grew on me quickly. And Frozen Oceans is just plain gorgeous.

I really just like this music regardless of whether it's sung by Carah or Sisely.

i want to give the new vocalist a chance but...it's so hard to. Carah's voice was so strong and beautiful. it was one of the reason's that first attracted me to STG in the first place. [3]

i want to give the new vocalist a chance but...it's so hard to. Carah's voice was so strong and beautiful. it was one of the reason's that first attracted me to STG in the first place. im all for a new sound, but i am starting to get disappointed with Sisley's voice. TT.TT i cant deny i will miss Carah's voice horribly. but lets give the new vocalist a chance. she prolly realize's she's got some big shoes to fill.

I put off this album for a long time because I was disappointed that Carah left. I finally started listening and it's not bad. Love Frozen Oceans.

sisleys voice fuckin killed it... i had to hear it to believe it, that new biatch does sound like a crappy cheerleader on crack with her wannabe punk voice (carah could actually sing) such a shame :(

I was really hoping for something more electronic-like. I'm sure I'll warm up to SoP eventually, but its not really what I think of when someone says "Shiny Toy Guns". This album is a lot more mainstream, and a lot edgier. I loved Carah but Sisley's voice is just as amazing. I just wish she would bring more of a voice that would fit with an electronic style. There aren't many good electronic bands out there, and when I found STG I thought I hit the jackpot. All I'm trying to say is that they should lean less towards the 80's style they're trying to achieve, and more towards a newer, fresher sound.

I stopped listening to this album after a week or two of intense listening, just doesn't top WAP, maybe I should start listening to it again and appreciate it as an album on its own without comparisons to the debut.

The old STG fans who adored WAP need to calm down... I was initially annoyed about Carah's departure but i've made my peace with it and anyway, isn't it a good thing that Sisely gives the new album something differrent? I think she gives it more of an edge personally. The old album is better, but this one isn't that far off. Basically if I want to listen to more melodic tunes I'll go with WAP but if I want something more bouncy and edgy I'll go listen to SoP. That's it really. People need to get over it.
