Draining Love Story has become Jvne's most iconic album, both due to the success of songs like Mr. Kill Myself/Newlove, and the album cover. The album carries a theme relating to the many emotions involving love, starting off upbeat, ecstatic and conflicting (tracks 1-5), then gradually becoming depressing and ending with the death of the relationship (tracks 6-10). Draining Love Story was different from previous works in that the theme was more palatable (compared to Don't be Afraid of Dying or Drowning In the Sewer) and the samples used were from media and not real life events (excluding This Fleeting Feeling).
