It's scandalous that not more people on here are listening to »The Calcination of Scout Niblett« and »It's Up to Emma«. What a shame.

I'm still getting wet at the thought that we might just yet get another Scout album.

@showroom-dummy, her stuff is hard to pin down because a lot of it is grungy and folky at the same time. It's really weird but I'm a big fan of it obviously. I know Nirvana was a big influence on her, as was Hole (which is my all time favorite band). I'm dying to see what she releases next though! She lives in my city somewhere so she's pretty well known around here.

agree @ scottdoesntknow. That's a great interview. Thanks Randwer. Love last.fm for this sort of stuff.

I love all her work, but I think "Sweet Heart Fever" gets terribly ignored. It's her most folksy and sounds a lot different from the rest of her albums. It's an interesting side of her that you wouldn't know from "It's Up to Emma" or "Calcination".

Thanks for the interview, Randwer, I listened to it today while I was cleaning. My suspicions were right (as if the album's content doesn't scream "breakup"). Good interview, I loved her discussion of astrology and past lives and stuff. She has an interesting perspective.

Does anyone know if Scout went through a break up recently? I read in a Portland paper a long time ago that she was married to a local musician, but 'It's Up to Emma' REEKS of a broken relationship. So many of the songs give me that impression, and I was wondering if she was separated or divorced or something? Kind of personal, but the songs truly make me wonder.
