At first: This is not an album. This is the first EP of a serie named "The Maldoror Chants". It's something different to the album work of Schammasch. At second: I think I can understand why some people are a dissapointed to this one, but this EP needs time to evolve its unbelievable huge soundscape. Listen to it with headphones while you walking through the night and you'll understand the productio, and the songs. Schammasch lives because of their songwriting, their lyrics and themes. I totally dig it. - The Maldoror Chants: Hermaphrodite 10/10

I'll give that a shot, maybe the mix benefits from headphones more than speakers

Triangle was cool, but I'm really not feeling this one. Way too loud to have much atmosphere, with (mostly) incomprehensible vocals. The drums on Along the Roads Leads to Bedlam are effective enough, but the way this is presented comes off as more pretentious than atmospheric. Hopefully next album either shaves off the overhead distortion (a la the Rotting Christ highlights) or they add more dynamic range for the next one. Either way, having understandable vocals like Triangle had would've helped this immensely.
