This is a shot in the dark and i'm not sure if anyone will really get the connection. But when i saw the quote about not elevating above reality it really struck me because when someone asked me to it was the only way i could encapsulate Herzog's movies; basically they don't go beyond anything that could happen in reality, even if that means he has to make them happen to be real like with the boat in fitzcarraldo. They both seem to share an obsessive love with the cultures of the world, too...I don't know enough about music to be able to say if there is a similarity in the actual construction of kawamura's music to herzog's films but it's just interesting to see that while conscious or not they share that humble philosophy. I can only hope he takes off like Herzog because he's the goddamn best.

From reading his quotes above, he's echoing the exact same philosophy as DJ Sushi (R.I.P.), another reputable, creative Japanese DJ and old friend of DJ Krush.
