Incredible group, so much energy, but combined with absolute precision, it's really phenomenal, even if I have no clue what it's all about!

really love it when you're listening to some random rock song for the first time and you recognise the riff from one of Ruin's utterly batshit melodies

I know exactly what it was, thanks to the power of last.fm. It was July Morning by Uriah Heep, which appears in Prog Medley.

Someone wrote; "Finally digging deeper into the Japaneses Ruin's discography. I've always like them, i just thought of them as a less awesome Koenjihyakkei" I once felt the same, as Ruins was something else, when you heard all your Koenjihyakkei. But now I love Ruins a million times more than Koenjihyakkei

Footage from the reunion show the other week. I think I read somewhere they were doing a couple other shows in January and that was possibly going to be it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XH_Y6kfbl9s

1985, people. 1985. Someday you morons are going to learn to use Google (or better, Last.fm) before naming your band.

These guys pretty much pioneered what we today consider as noise rock nowadays. Not only that, their discography features a great amount of variation, so much that I don't think I'd ever get bored If all I was ever allowed to listen to while stranded on an empty island was these guys' material.

Finally digging deeper into the Japanese Ruins' discography. I've always liked them; I just thought of them as a less awesome Koenjihyakkei. Now I think they are on the same level. [2]
