How Did We Get So Dark? is the second studio album by British rock duo Royal Blood. The album was released by Warner Bros. Records on June 16th, 2017.
The album is considered by most critics to be compositionally similar to the band's breakthrough debut album; both of the albums are stylistically very similar, with Kerr's bass serving as the music's focal point, but it has a softer sound compared to their debut. The album received generally positive reviews from music critics, attaining a Metacritic aggregate score of 71. The album was generally not as well received as the band's first album with critics noting that, while the songwriting and production were well-executed, the band had failed to progress creatively since their debut.
