Biography

"The Gestalt Manifesto" is the debut album from Matt Werner and Nate Clark's RIEUX. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Matthew and Nate have crafted a beautifully detailed sound which is comprised of many sound-layers. This makes for a sound which as well as being compellingly elaborate, also ultimately presents the listener with some of the most breathtakingly FAT analogue synth sounds currently available to human ears. It's quite something.

Says Matt, "Nate and I started talking about Gestalt theory and how it could apply to music. Let's take a bunch of tiny movements, add them on top of each other until what we get is almost shoegaze in a way, but with synths. The whole becomes greater than its parts, essentially."

The artwork booklet for this release has been created by Nick Taylor and utilises images of Matthew's Grandfather. The book will be issued to subscribers in due course, but for now, there is a pdf contained in the download.
