I always heard this man's voice on the radio when my family would travel across the country when I was a kid. Makes me think of the wide open country.

Never really eyeballed the groups attached to the page here before. "Country Music - The Real Stuff" is a particularly amusing one considering that I have heard many a "real country" fan dismiss Randy's output, given that he's cemented so heavily in the neotraditional country scene.

We, the country music community, in Bakersfield, on this, Buck Owens birthday, want to express our love and support for Randy Travis on what may be his darkest hour. We do that through this song, and through our prayers. http://johnib.wordpress.com/2012/08/11/randy-travis-rough-night-what-were-you-drinking-last-night/

Heard 'Deeper than the Holler' here on lastfm...the first thing to do the next day was to get a Randy Travis CD - I didn't regret it. Great music.

@GeeTeeAge So true! I Told You So is one of the best ballad songs he wrote! I also like Four Walls:) and offcourse Forever and Ever Amen! That was the first country song I ever heard, back here in the Netherlands, that's in Europe:)

Just spent the weekend listening to old Randy Travis albums. I can't get over how many great songs and albums he has released. Any fan of Country Music, will realise they are listening to a legend. I like his religious/spiritual songs, but I wish he would get back to the Honkytonk - and release an album like "Storms of Life".
