Their lazy asses didn't record this song back in the 00's just because they didn't want to

The fact that the "we know where you live" lyric is the one displayed as a preview on this page is terrifying

It's cool seeing how many people can vividly remember hearing this for the first time. I'm the same way.

it's weird, even though this isn't usually considered one of Radiohead's best cuts, this is probably THE song that really got me into music. Like, with my current knowledge of music, I know that strings as a rock instrument are far from new (hell, Coldplay did it like 8 years prior), but when I discovered this song, SHIT. My classic rock-listening ears had never beheld anything like this. This song was creepy, epic, anxiety-inducing, and ridiculously catchy. My world was blown up.

As a huge Radiohead fan, this song is really just the bottom tier Radiohead for me. Poor placement doesn't help it either.

I'd like to hear more about this, even tho I thoroughly disagree with it. I mean, the only thing I dislike about the song is how conflicting the uncomfortable theme is vs how enticing it is to listen to the strings. You have to compromise between having to lend your ears to this villainous character praising a horrible event, but doing so trough this catchy, enthralling melody. This compromise almost sounds like the point of the song: "I'll give you a beautiful melody, but you must think about those horrible events, do you accept?"

I have an individual memory for almost each song in AMSP. It was 3rd of May, in the evening was my night shift in hotel. So I was sleeping during the day. When I woke up I visited instantly our russian RH fan base, and there was a mess, can you imagine. A new song! Uplifted I've uploaded it and headed to the hotel, listening ofc. Night was unusually quite, I watched an entire "Schindler's List" without interrupting. Then I made a latte and went out to smoke cherry cigarillos and watching an early sunny morning. Street was almost empty. God what a great time it was!

It's OK to like it because it's funny. Comedy is also a form of art. But I see what you mean.

You have a point. For me personally it does but there's a lot of music I have not heard especially in classical. The planets come to mine though.
