great album, i really like the emotional vocal performances in all the tracks, the harmonies in made to parade, the spooky backing vocals in peephole and the guitar work specially in carnavoyer and emotion sickness

The more I listen to this the more I find it lacking, or moreso the more it feels like a safe bet for the fans who hated Villains. Doesn't feel like it takes the same sorta risks LC or Villains did, and though it's nice to hear the older sounds like the Little Sister guitar tone on Paper Machete, it feels like it has a bit of an identity crisis because of it. If everything was a bit more sonically consistent and stayed with the darker tone like on Carnavoyeur and Sicily, I think I'd like it more. Still good, but feels like playlist fodder more than its own album.

Flows well and sounds great live; tracks, like Made to Parade, have more energy and auditory "fullness" in concert. It's not my favourite Qotsa album of all time (tough competition in a great discography), but I liked it alright to begin with and have only grown more attached to it with time. Pretty happy with how consistent these guys have been over +25 years.

I'll be honest I wasn't expecting much from this album but it rips. Gets better every listen

I love QOTSA but what’s with the garage demo quality of their albums recently? I mean the drums for one are almost nonexistent.

It is better than I was expecting. There is a lot going on in these songs, and you can tell that so much went into them, but I don't think that always equals good songs as there are some that are pretty weak and kind of hurt the pacing. I was hoping for some more ragers, but I guess they really aren't that band anymore. Paper Machete is an instant classic though,

If to throw out "Straight Jacket Fitting, which I totally disliked, I give this LP 7 out of 10. Also I cannot but note the stylish album cover.

The album cover art is dark and gnarly - but also invokes AI-quality, misshapen horror. A sign of the times, I guess.
