This is it chief. The best song ever written. A true masterpiece and the magnus opus of Queen - more progressive than Supper's Ready or Echoes or Prophet's Song - this song is the absolute crown on the jewel that is Queen. The great vocals along with the poetic lyrics are a true blessing should be praised. Listen to Mercury saying "Gimme your body, sexy body." A fine creation even Shakespeare couldn't come up with it. As I speak, this song should be the main point of the movie. Too bad it's vastly underrated, as it's a truly great masterpiece.

It's a bit rich for people to be critical of Freddie for writing a song like this, and then not do the same when Prince composed some, along these lines, that had more embarrassing lyrics?

Yeah, one of the clunkers from Queen. I seem to recall on the Queen video DVD the commentary by Brian and Roger is amusing. I don't think they were fans of the song either.

Perhaps my least favorite Queen song. Far too much emphasis on synthesizers and things that are quite un-Queen-like.

This song is a really creepy sex song. It always reminds me of a rapist going to a club to pick up women. And the electronic sound that goes from low to high really fast reminds me of a guy getting an instant boner. I hope this didn't scare anyone.

@PartySanCTG: Probably because songs with sexual topic were very hot at that time (in early 1982) when songs like "Physical" and "Centerfold" dominated the top of the charts...

I really don't get why this was the first single, it's probably the weakest on the album. Maybe to warn away the closeminded fans?

Pfff, stop whining... PLEASE! This song is AWESOME, and Hot Space got some really fine tracks. So what if it's not what the regular Queen lover expected/hoped it would be like, try something different for a change! I guess this is just like those Pink Floyd lovers who piss all over Scissor Sisters' cover of Uncomfortably Numb. To me, that cover is superb; the original = boring... But hey, I guess I'm just into that gay ole thing, right?!

I'm not a very big fan of Hot Space. "Las Palabras De Amor" is a good track from it , but otherwise it's a different style than I care for. It does show how versatile the band was, though, especially Freddie's vocal capabilities.

Ok, it's really not their best song but I still can enjoy it, it's just kinda funny. And yes, the opening is great!

not their greatest moment. But one has to try different things to learn what one does best. Actually it has no funk at all, that's so sad about this.
