"Diet Coke” was the lead single for Pusha T’s 2022 album "It’s Always Dry". It was first previewed after a snippet surfaced of Push and Kanye West recording a music video. It was later confirmed that Ye was involved in the song after his girlfriend Julia Fox told Interview Magazine that she had gone to a music video shoot for the collaboration. Push later shared a snippet of the song at an afterparty for the KENZO fashion show in Paris, France.
The beat, originally intended to be an interlude for 88-Keys beat tape "The Makings of Crack Cocaine", was produced in 2004, around 18 years before “Diet Coke” was released.
On February 15, 2022, Pusha T posted a video of him and the attendees of the KENZO Paris show afterparty, listening to “Diet Coke” before the song released.
