Omg thank you for saying this! It's just so annoying how some Prince albums don't have the correct data such as tracklist, release date, name and track/length

A hideously underrated album IMO; there's scarcely a weak moment on it. When I was just getting into Prince, this and the HITnRUN albums were almost like mini Purple Rains to me; they're just really sharp and full of interesting production and songwriting touches.

crazy Prince was still this creative and engaging this late in his career. I hope this album and the HITnRUN albums get some deep appreciation in the future...

The problem with this album is the same with the last few that came before this one. None of the songs get stuck in your head. It might sound fine enough on a superficial level, but once it's over I find myself having trouble remembering a single hookline from it. The trend graph basically says it all; no one is listening to it on a long-term basis.

After listening once I can see that it is a good one but Rainbow Children and Under a Cherry Moon and Around the World in a Day still do more. Hot album cover though.

There's not a lot of "newness" left for Prince to muster but you'd expect better considering his bag of tricks. AOA could have been a really exciting album with more effort and ambition; more hunger. Sadly, P wasn't willing to dig deep into his bag of tricks :( ...at least Plectrum Electrum was more honest in its intent (mass communication), if also rather underwhelming. A few better hooks here and there could have made a lot of difference and given the verses and arrangements more purpose and intrigue... I need more to bite into here! However, after a lot of further listening, I've bumped this up to a weak 7/10. There are or one or two more goodies on here than I gave credit for and the vibe is consistent.

This one is pretty near flawless for me. "Art Official Age" confirms that Prince is the quintessential R&B progenitor and innovator. The young folks need to bow down when they hear this one.
