“Come Home” was released as the lead single from Placebo’s debut album of the same name. It was released under the record label 'Deceptive', before the band's signing with 'Virgin Records'. It was a minor chart success, making it to number 86 in the U.K Singles chart, and features the British band's original drummer, Robert Schultzberg.
The song was re-recorded for their debut album and didn’t appear on their singles collection 'Once More With Feeling', on account of it being pre-Virgin records. The official video began the bands life long love affair with performance-based clips, the video for the song features the band performing the song in a small room.
In 1996 Molko described "Come Home" as "Punk pop for postponed suicides". The song was rarely played live after 1997 regardless of the favouritism it gained in live performances. "Come Home" does through unexpectedly appear on their 20 year anniversary compilation album "A Place For Us To Dream" in 2016.
