I'm not that bothered by Christian lyrics enough to prevent me from listening a band , but unless done interestingly and in a non-preachy tone, I can't really get behind them either, especially if that's the main lyrical focus of a band. People who don't understand why metalheads have different attitudes towards Satanic and genuine preachy Christian lyrics will probably never truly "get it" and it's pointless trying to explain. It has less to do with "offensiveness" and more to do with "lameness".

Yes, better be careful or Jesus might get you. Much like you should never read any "holy books" because they might corrupt your weak little mind. People fear what they don't understand and hate what they fear. I guess I'll be off now to the Cannibal Corpse page to announce to the world that while I very much enjoy their music, I cannot accept violence towards anyone and do not wish to see the undead ravage the earth.

it never fails to astound me how offput metalheads are about christian lyrics when satanic ones don't bother them, especially if they believe in neither (a category i fall into). solid doom metal is solid.

Nope, I prefer Griffin's voice too. By the way, does anyone here know if they're working on a new album?

Oh, and Christian lyrics in metal are fine with me, as long as they're not overly preachy or annoyingly pushy with their ideology. Victor manages a very good medium with his.

Ran across a used copy of Nailed today in a local record shop, and bought it instantly.

They were rather disappointing with their own music, although Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood cover is brilliant. :) Should listen to them more still.
