Biography
Composer and multi-instrumentalist Petrit Augustini always knew he had a mission: to convey his vision about the world and universe through sound. This requires an honest and uncompromising approach, one which enables him to follow his own instincts and remain stoic in the face of passing trends.
From an early age, Augustini showed interest in unusual but emotionally resonant sounds – those that call you from another dimension, strange but familiar at the same time. He heard these sounds everywhere around him, but discovered that electric guitars and synthesizers produce those that resonate with him the most.
Hailing from Pristina, Kosovo, Augustini started to compose his own music at the age of 19 using only his electronic keyboard and VSTs. This resulted in Another World, a retrospectively-titled collection of purely electronic songs and a precursor of what was to come. Around the same time, he co-founded ...Ov Secrets, an experimental electronic duo which released its eponymous album in 2011.
A decade later, Augustini updated his home studio, The Institute for Synthetic and Organic Music, and started working on what would become his most progressive and ambitious project, Seven. A multi-movement hybrid of genres such as prog rock, jazz fusion, electronic, ambient, and heavily informed from video game music, the song introduced an updated sound, one which is more demanding on a cognitive, technical, and emotional level.
