Besides 'Ten', 'Lightning Bolt' is my favorite PJ album thus far. I like 'em all, but LB is my favorite. \\m/ \\m/

don't really like the country track much, or the obvious ballad, but otherwise it's a solid PJ release.

Seems to lacking that dull hard rock stuff of their 2000s work hence the best since Binaural.

Pearl Jam does it again.. Loved the album. Specially Future Days, Sirens, Pendulum... Ah, I guess every song touches a different note. The album sort of grows on you. I understand people saying, it did not stuck at ones. It is much of a versatile album. Covers the highs and the lows. PJ hats off to you guys. Keep rocking in the free world. \m/

It doesn't really do much for me at the moment but I am sure the songs will come into their own in a live setting when placed alongside other classics in those oh so carefully crafted setlists.

I can't believe the people saying this sounds like their last two albums, are you listening with something in your ears or what? Backspacer maybe, but still no. They are definitely into some other things here that were not explored on that record, and comparing it to the Pearl Jam record is beyond ridiculous, the style is completely different.

On the first listen, it starts pretty good, then the other half is a bit of a let-down, with no songs really sticking out, except, in bad way, for the horrible Let the Records Play. Other are a bit too gooey, or make you wonder if they shouldn't be EV solo songs and not PJ songs. *But* after a few more spins, you get to realize that a good portion of the songs that sounded a bit bland at first could, as often with PJ, really turn into quite the sensation at live shows, once they throw in their signature solos and tags into the mix. Not their best, but there's a few gems that should hold the test of time.

Decent album by a truly great band. Not without a couple of duds mind you, Infallible and Pendulum spring to mind. Not their best album by any stretch and musically similar to both their previous two, but there's another hits here to justify a purchase. Amazon have mine in the post!

Kinda mixed feelings about this album. I must say I only listened to it once so I'm still hoping it gets under my skin the more i'll listen to it. Songs that attracted me so far: Sirens, Get Away, Pendulum, Swallowed Whole. Anyway, fuckin' right they finally released this. Was waiting for this moment for ages! (4 years to be more precise :P)

It's entirely fine to compare albums. It's a matter of showing whether you agree or disagree with the direction they're going in as a band.

I don't understand the necessity of comparison between albuns... Why can't everyone understand that both are works made by the same artist, and each one has its own personality? Why choose one when you can listen to both? D:
