It's still so fascinating to me how such a weird song is also so emotionally resonant. I think it's the repeating chord progression that makes it extra heart wrenching.

Yeah, but even when they did it live and Malkmus was just repeating nonsense like "peppermint" over and over it still resonated

There's this thing about this song where I picture it myself on the end of world. Me lying on the grass, looking at the sky, while I hold my girlfriend's hand. And then everyone is running around like crazy and there is all this sounds coming from the cars all around the city, but nothing really matters at that point because this song is playing loud and it's like being lift by the the air... AND WTF I'M TALKING ABOUT, MAN? HAHHAHAHHA :D Anyway, I love the shit out of this song and album!

My god, this gotta be the most amazing album closer. Just love it! It's like I die on the middle of the track and then I'm born again when all that beautiful mess after the "She gooooes" start it. By the end I'm on the floor just fucking amazed by this album. ♥

one of my favourites love how it starts out seemingly as a freestyle inspired by The Frogs before turning into something eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepicly hard
