I thought this for a long time but I think I like slanted & enchanted more now! rough around the edges but a looooot to love about it once you acknowledge the fact that they're just having fun. Malkmus really plays around with rhythms, words, and everything he can on that album.

The epitome of indie and slacker. Awesome tunes from beginning to the end with that special unpolishedness only Pavement can do and still sound cool as fuck. And the lyrics on this one, are probably the best of Malkmus in the Pavement catalogue.

"Heaven is a Truck" is garbage, but everything else is wonderful. This one gets my vote for best Pavement album.

It also got me thinking about how perfect each one of this 12 songs are for me today. The transition of one track to another on this it's just amazing in a really unique way (think about it how a fun and uplifting song as "Cut your hair" being place right after a depressing song like "Stop breathin" and how well that works. It's the perfect order, man). I'm falling in love with this EVEN MORE as time goes by.

"Fillmore Jive" just finished playing and it made me realise that listening to this album still is one of my favorite things in life. Thank you, Pavement . THANK YOU!

This would have been a 10/10 if it wasn't for Heaven is a truck and Hit the plane down. Still 9/10 though so a near masterpiece

@adamgover97: I have the vinyl record right here. The back album art shows "Silence Kit" painted by somebody, while the label on the record clearly has "Silence Kid" handwritten (presumably by SM). I tend to think it's "Silence Kid", although the label also has track 2 titled "Ell Ess Two" instead of "Elevate Me Later", so it's possible that SM changed both of those titles.

As much as I love the lo-fi noise of S&E, and the wild, eclectic experimental nature of Wowee Zowee, it's the twisted guitar pop of Crooked Rain I love the most. Favorite Pavement album <3 sounds so good on vinyl.

Crooken Rain has some amazing songs [elevate, stop breathin', gold soundz] but S&E is better and more consistent in my opinion
