People are sleeping on this masterpiece. It's not as polished as Ram (my favorite) but he also did *everything* including the writing, singing, playing all the instruments, recording, mixing... the man's insane.

It definitely has its charm, but, except for career highlight "Maybe I'm Amazed", it's basically just a bunch of unfinished demos. It's not close to the greatness of his Beatles days, and neither is it a sign of things to come, such as the fantastic follow up "Ram".

One of the most charming and beautifully simple albums in existence. In its own way, it's hardly a lesser thing than Abbey Road.

Disagree about George never being the equal of Lennon and McCartney... Here Comes the Sun, While My Guitar Gently Weeps and Something are all just as good as the best Lennon and McCartney Beatles songs. Everyone from Frank Sinatra to Elvis fell in love with Something in particular, and while I consider Band on the Run the best post-Beatles album, I'd put All Things Must Pass as a close second.

I love George, always will. But I feel like McCartney is in another realm. A total freak of nature. Paul is the only one I feel who got even better after The Beatles. Most of "All Things Must Pass" (which is fantastic!) was written largely during the last two or three years he was a Beatle. His later albums never measured up to that creativity, imo. Paul kept going, making some of his best work in the 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000's,... AND he's been touring fairly consistently since 1972. He's just insane, lol.

It's still somewhat shocking after all this time to realize that the McCartney of this album was just 6 months (give or take) removed from the McCartney of Abbey Road. Both brilliant yet polar opposites.

I call McCartney/RAM/Wild Life the "Golden Trilogy" of Paul. They are so unique, brilliant, and creative. All three in TWO YEARS. It boggles my mind.

Tyrano.....the Beatles were not as equally brilliant.Lennon and McCartney were brilliant....George was a work in progress for most of the early years and then a good artist in his own right in the later ones...but he was NEVER in the same league.

George had several spectacular shining moments. But I agree he was not quite in the same league as those two.

Simple, beautiful, and truly a sign that Paul is a major musical talent on his own

It is true I am agree this is one maca's masterpiece. But I think when He relesed this album he was not that happy with it. The dissapointing was far more because George Harrison got No 1 with "My sweet Lord" that year. Do not forget that the stars in The Beatles were Paul and John and not having a No 1 as a solo artist was to much for them! George got it first!!!
