hello there, yes I am used to reacting to reactions to 5-year old posts, indeed, since 2017 I do not give a fuck anymore, PL can do what they want, because they are good at doing anything they want :) see you in 5 years !

Classic doom/death album. A little weaker than Gothic, Icon and Draconian Times, but still is excellent. Pity the Sadness and As I Die are the highlights for me

Matthew Archer really was a horrible drummer. You can hear so clearly in the first three albums how all the other guys develop their skills tremedously, but the drumming always sounds like there's a twelve year old behind the kit.

An amazing album ! Not as much of an instant classic as "Gothic" or "Lost Paradise", but this one is really growing on me .

Very underrated. As I die, although very good, is not the best song on this album. But it was so successful that it influenced PL's further development. This is a shame, really, because the longer, more complex songs on SOG have become evergreens for me, while everything that came later, just came and went.

When it comes to Peaceville, I still prefer early Anathema and My Dying Bride, but this is PL's best album IMHO.

Black Sabbathian groove with grunting vocals and gloomy, anguished lyrics: purrrfect!! ;D
