“The Good, the Bad, and the Dirty” is the ninth track off Panic! at the Disco’s fifth studio album, "Death of a Bachelor". It’s likely a reference to the 1966 movie, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
This song is basically a melting pot for both the good and bad times in his journey as a musician. From a bizarre relationship to a fist fight, this song represents the idea that being a touring artist can be both exciting and grueling.
When asked by Billboard if there were “things that emerged in the writing that surprised ,” Brendon Urie replied with:
"Most definitely, there’s a song called “The Good, The Bad And The Dirty” that I started writing just as a task trying to relate all the people I’ve met over the last decade of touring, trying to put them all in a song. Then I realized I praise a lot of people a lot of times, but sometimes it gets real. I don’t get along with everybody and so I wanted to talk about that. That just crept up on me because it didn’t happen until I wrote the chorus. “Ooh, that’s kind of brutal, I like it."
