This took almost everyone by surprise in 1999. Sounding more streamlined and bit more simple gave it a fame of being the not so successful commercial turn that kinda ruined their career. I know I listened to it very little, even if I liked it and actually 'got' it. But it is far from all of that. The concept of the sound profile is stellar and timeless. It is extremely cerebral, and basically inaccessible. It's like retro songs superimposed with dark techno. It is more simple, but deceitfully simple. Up then it was their more different album. I'm listening now, in a random time, and I can't stop. It's not the first time I'm impressed by MON but now I can add that it stands the test of time, probably better than any of their other albums.

Probably my third favourite of theirs, 1st being In Sides and 2nd being Snivilisation

Just an amazing album, by far their best work, in my opinion anyway. Listening to it now for the first time in ages, don't know why it's been this long, this album is like an old friend :)

I saw Orbital live for the first time on the "Middle Of Nowhere" tour too - an event that finally switched me on to their music. It also prompted me to give 'In Sides' a proper listen (something I'd only done a meagre few times since I bought it in 1996 - sacrilege, I know, but I'm so glad I corrected that error). I sometimes find it's a tough call to decide which is better, In Sides or Middle Of Nowhere, but they are so different in style that it's an impossible comparison to make. They are both exceptional albums that seem to get better with every listen, and are among the most heavily played of all my records by any artist.

It was on the "Middle Of Nowhere" tour that I first saw Orbital play live. Awesome - one of the best, if not THE best, live electronic bands ever. And my album is tagged "Way Out →"...

I totally agree, folks. If only the Last FM bods would change the damn tag for 'Way Out', and get rid of the '-->' - maybe it would actually appear on the Last FM player once in a while, and the track would feature higher in the charts, as it damn well should! 'Way Out' has been scrobbled 17,000 times, 'Way Out -->' barely 1,500. Do the math.

I personally feel this is Orbital's best work. All of their other albums are amazing to but this is album i always come back to and i never want it to end. Each track has great melodies.Love Spare Parts Express for its quirkyness and it makes me want to cry the melody at the start and near the end!!Love the dark industrial feel to Knowhere To Run as well!!the opening two minutes are very spooky like
