“Miss You” is a remix of Oliver’s 2020 song ”Jerk” released on his debut album ”Ugly is Beautiful”. The track is originally remixed by Southstar a German based artist who sampled Oliver’s vocals. He would later sell the production of the song to Robin Schulz.

This was confirmed by one of Oliver’s managers in an Instagram comment who said:

”south star used olivers vocals then sold his production to robin schulz, oliver was not involved”

From around late September to early October the track would start to see a rise in popularity on social media platforms like TikTok. The track was reach 22 million streams on Spotify on October 15, 2022 and chart to 13 on Spotify Global top 50 playlist.

Around the time of the tracks popularity Southstar would come out with their take on the situation VIA Instagram:

”I reworked “Jerk“ by Oliver Tree out of pure admiration for his track and vocals. We cleared the publishing rights with the three authors of “Jerk”, including Oliver Tree, allowing me to release my reworked version of ‘Jerk’ called ‘Miss You’. And contrary to some rumors circulating online, I never sold this rework or my production.”

The song would receive a remixed sped up version of the track later on October 17, 2022.

On October 27, 2022 Oliver would release an official music video for the track directed by himself.
