Heard them for first time now and I'm really crashed, in a positive way. Great Album.

At the moment, I think ACOF was better too, but ACOF is among my 3 all-time favorite releases, so it's too hard to top. New one is more "regular", I'd say, but it still has October Falls' essence, especially in guitar riffing. Songs with clean vocals cannot be described as Amorphis' ripoffs, either, not the same atmosphere. My highlights at the moment are "The verge of oblivion" and "The weight of the fallen".

upon the first listen, i think Collapse was much better... but needs more spins! if it's that Amorphis guy singing on Boiling Heart, and you guys think it's the best track on the album, why don't you just go and listen to Amorphis instead :S i certainly didn't need any Amorphis in my October Falls...

Not sure if it's the best, but it's nonetheless a great track, and the album as a whole is really intense, even though it's less cohesive than the other releases because of the separate songs. Riffing is once again rich and magical, bass textures are once again awesome.

Snakes of the Old World = yay, Boiling Heart of the North = nay (ruined by vocals). Really hope the rest sounds like Snakes! *fingers crossed*
