Interesting seeing O.A.R. play the NHL All-Star game. They were a band known for great lives shows and changed there sound in an attempt to sell more albums. Now album sales mean nothing its all about the live performances. If they had just waited they wouldn't of had to sell out.

34th and 8th is a good album. They went downhill in a hurry after that. I'm not a hipster that doesn't like bands just cause they get some radio play (look at my charts for proof), it just so happened that this band actually did get shitty once they started writing super poppy songs. 34th and 8th, especially disc 1, is a great album and takes me right back to high school when I listen to it. I'll always have a soft spot for 2005 and before OAR.

What do you all think of the King album? It seems to me that they are becoming increasingly more spiritual, perhaps in response to the lack of a "moral compass" in our post modern distraction era. Not that spiritual wholeness was not a large portion of their optimistically driven revolution of love and friendship from the beginning, but it has a Christian gospel feel to me. I love the band, so I will follow patriotically, but I fear the preaching will compete with my fanhood. Eh, after all, the band has been an instigator for being kind and friendly in my life.

they were really good up until 'in between now and then.' 34th&8th is a fantastic live album, as is Any Time Now. The shit they have recorded since this is laughably, embarrassingly awful. Their sax player is (was) fantastic but they dont use him hardly at all these days. Its a shame how quickly and completely they changed their sound just for some radio play. I hate the term 'sell out' but it pretty much sums up what happend to this band after 2005.
