Biography

Nuno Freitas is a Portuguese-born, London-based artist who sings about love and desire in all their nuances and complexities. In particular, as a member of the LGBTQI+ community, Nuno explores same-sex love and desire, combining honesty with poetry and vulnerability with a sense of purpose.

Nuno has performed across London in some of the capital’s best venues, such as The Fiddler’s Elbow in Camden Town and The Glory in Haggerston.

Nuno has also performed a small set of original songs at The Basement as part of BBC Introducing Live 2019, an experience that he described as “a wonderful opportunity and an honour.”

In his opinion, one of his biggest achievements was headlining the first-ever Pride in Madeira Island (Portugal) in 2017, because it gave him an opportunity to “share my work with a community that has always been so supportive and encouraging of me as an artist and a person.”

Nuno is preparing to release a series of singles that will demonstrate his creative vision for his first full length album, which is upcoming.

“I took time to find the right direction for me and my music, and I’ve got it now. I am really excited about sharing this new work, which is deeply personal but also I feel very universal because it’s about love in all of its forms.”
