was able to introduce my late 60s friend Robert (with whom I would sit with outside of Trader Joes a couple of times a week back in 2012-14) to this song one day as the calm nature of this was able to get through to him, just like I hoped it would. He had never heard a NiN song before (or since in all likelyhood) and so it was really unique hearing his perspective. In particular he really liked the animals in the cage line and felt that overall the song was just like what alot of people like him in the late 60s realized doing upon doing acid. That combined with his Buddhist outlook made for a really cool takeway about our inner lives and as such this song will always be my favorite NiN song because of this amazing connection.....miss you Robert, my friend <3

Trent is the God of music, A GENIUS... The Man is a Idle to millions, An enigma. NIN Have warped into different types of music for years, That takes talent, especially for them to all be AMAZING. Im so glad he is still making music, and still surprising us after all these years.

I prefer this version to the original because Trents voice isn't layered. In the original it always annoys me that you can hear Trents pure voice just right at the end.
