Biography

"Sila" exists from December '97 and since then plays regularly.
For relatively short period of time, "Sila" drew attention of the public due to imaginativeness of the conception which enabled "Sila" to deal successfully with both small clubs and venues, adapting completely to ambience and atmosphere. "Sila" uses the process method of music language and creation with which communicates with modern music trends (techno, break-beat, trip-hop), and in that way makes the most avantgarde ideas easily accepted. "Sila"'s performance revises the form of the usual R'n'R conception dividing it into two or three units between which carefully chosen DJs overlap, making the sound experience complete.
"Sila successfully cooperates with those artists interested in breaking the conventional ways of presenting the works of Art (Video Art, exhibitions, promotions…).

"Sila" kept from R'n'R heritage its essential energy of unforeseeable "going-on" phenomenon, so that it could , by changing the psychedelic rock experiences of all generations trough language of break-beat and trip-hop as well as techno, came to its long-lasting space rock improvisations , which by the look of it have no beginning and no end. By riding on time, "Sila" taught that gig is enjoyment itself, returning R'n'R to its roots trough dance, as something energetically pure, superiorly innocent and again potently, the most powerful in the world. - Dragan Ambrozic, VREME.

"Another Belgrade band that’s as good or better than anything you’ll hear in New York City is Neocekivana sila koja se iznenada pojavljuje i resava stvar-"Unexpected force that appears suddenly and saves the thing." They often go by the less wordy moniker "Sila," and their first two LPs 1999’s eponymous collection and a 2000 disc called Hard to Dig It! are the high-water mark of Belgrade’s resurgent club culture. In Sila’s music, dub and rock textures wash up against truly sinuous beats. Their brooding, arty music sounds like the product of Lee Perry, Barry Adamson and the Cure, all within a single tune." - Richard Byrne,NEW YORK PRESS
