“Dispersion” is the debut album from the Japanese trio project NAQT VANE, comprising producer Hiroyuki SAWANO, vocalist Harukaze, and art director Classic 6. Released on January 10th, 2024, it features 16 tracks, including standout singles like “NIGHTINGALE,” “TOUCH,” and “Odd One Out.”

The album title was described by vocalist Harukaze in an interview:

“Dispersion” is a term used in the jewelry industry. The brilliance of a gemstone changes depending on the refraction and reflection of light, and among them, diamonds have three effects that generate their brilliance, one of which is called “dispersion.” Especially with diamonds, their brilliance is because the balance of dispersion is very good. Light refracts differently depending on the color (wavelength), and that’s why gemstones shine. From there, we wanted to convey the meaning that “each of us shines like a gemstone because everyone is different.”

Dispersion was produced by Sawano with an approach focused on capturing diverse musical influences and weaving them into a cohesive sonic tapestry. Embracing experimentation and innovation, Sawano aimed to create a dynamic album that resonates with listeners across cultures and borders. With an emphasis on quality, authenticity, and emotional depth, the production process sought to push creative boundaries while staying true to the essence of NAQT VANE’s identity.
