2) MONSTRO is an oft-dubbed “folk supergroup” in Los Angeles CA. Daniel Brummel (guitar) and Ezra Buchla (viola) started playing under this name in 1999, adding Laura Steenberge (contrabass) and corey fogel (percussion) in the early 2000’s. All these musicians have primarily left their mark through other projects (Ozma, The Mae Shi, Gowns, Listing Ship, Missincinatti, Sanglorians, Spain, The Hollow Trees, et cetera); nevertheless as MONSTRO they have self-released several (now-obscure) collections of songs and remain a well-loved mainstay in the LA musical underground.
