I just realized they sound a lot like Death (the garage rock band form the 70s, not the death metal band)

I refuse to believe their merit resides only in nailing the perfect sound, I refuse to believe those wild cats are just coasting on top of their Mesa Boogies. I agree with gregorb87

What happened to the new Milk Music?? They stopped touring and the new album is a big disappointment. Coincidence?

Sure, Crying Wand and Burning Light are great. But there are more throwaways here (Serious Listener, Dramatic Exit)) and Tibetan Headtrip is unlistenable.

Cruise Your Illusion is so great, but they will never get the recognition. Will be like 12 on Pforks top 100 this year.

Cruise Your Illusion is a delightful guitar album. Listen to the songs and forget your music critic ego.

A lot of you jokers don't seem to get it. MM aren't trying to emulate Dinosaur, and DEFINITELY aren't trying at all to emulate grunge. They never have. They happen to have a lot of the same influences as Dinosaur does, which makes for a comparable sound. True artists are like hammerhead sharks, if they don't keep moving forward, they'll simply die. What I see with the second record is a band doing just that, maturing, experimenting, and staying alive. I was a big fan of Beyond Living, but I'm an even bigger fan after spinning this record, because it's a testament to their diverse tastes, individuality, and will to live. That's a real big part of what rocknroll is all about.

New album is a big improvement over Beyond Living, great guitar work throughout. But please stop singing like J. Mascis and find your own voice.
