According to the Permamant December Songfacts, the song was written by Miley, John Shanks and Claude Kelly and was produced by John Shanks. It finds the singer pining for her love when she's away touring. Cyrus told MTV News that a number of tracks on Can't Be Tamed are about her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, but she declined to say which ones. "There are a lot of songs that are about Liam. I tell him every one's about him," she joked.
