Biography

Born on August 12th, 1983, it was Mike's destiny to be a part of the musical environment. Mike has always been listening to music ever since he was but an infant. His father had (and still has) a record collection before he was even born. Gradually listening to the old classics like The Commodores, Gladys Knight & The Pips, etc. Mike slowly began to learn the dancing element of music. Being in the Haitian culture he grew up in, the music played under this culture is always dance music orientated. Not the same genre of Dance as most of you may think, but its a dance style in the Haitian culture.

In his Sophomore year in High School (2000), Mike went to his first High School dance. The music was of all sorts, but the one that caught his ear was the Dance and Techno music that was being played. It was something that he liked to dance to and never stop until that last Record/CD was played. It wasn't much of anything to Mike until a warm, sunny day arrived in 2002. It was then that Mike would finally see the music he has been searching for.

Mike was just eating his normal lunch in front of the kitchen TV. Putting the channel on MTV, the show MTV's "True Life: I'm A Clubber" was probably the best thing that has ever happened to him. For the first time he saw a man who was named Tiesto playing one of the most popular tracks at the time,"Flight 643." Even though Tiesto was shown on TV for a few seconds, Mike's world went upside down. He began to find out information of Tiesto and his productions via online.

In early 2003, A Friend on AIM messaged Mike about the show called "A State of Trance." Mike wasn't too sure of what it was and who was hosting the show, but quickly learned that this show was the guide to understanding what new tracks were on the way of being released. He also knew this was the way to keep up to date with new dance music. He quickly began to follow Armin van Buuren's show every week and has not missed an episode since Episode 89.

Early in 2004, Mike had the oppourtunity to see Armin van Buuren & DJ Remy @ Roxy, NYC. Unfortunately, his friend did not want to stay long because the music was not his taste. Mike was dissatisfied by his friend and left along with him.

In Febuary of 2004, Mike was dertermined to come back to New York City. He went to his first "true" Clubbing event @ Roxy. It was none other than Paul van Dyk making Mike feel that this was the music that would stay with him for the rest of his life. "It was the best feeling in the world. To dance like that along with the crowd, there's nothing like it. Mike seriously felt that this music is what he would listen to and nothing else. Mike, later on, spoke with a friend of his online and discovered he had DJ equipment.

Mike envied his friend for having the skills (and money) to be able to purchase equipment such as this and being able to mix dance music.Mike had to get equipment of his own. "I felt like it was time to stop listening to music and get involved in it." Mike began to purchase Turntables.Playing styles from Trance to Progressive then eventually on to House & Techno, Mike has been able to make 1 hour sets and has been able to have his first set "The World of Trance" on ETS-Global (Now ETN.FM)in just one year. Mike also enjoys most subgenres of Jazz and the genre of Soulful House, but to him, these are genres he can only listen to and not do any else with it.

Mike has been told by a friend that to be able to work hard and be successful at something is knowing three things: "Blood. Sweat. Tears." To this day, Mike has used those three words and used them as motivation to become a better DJ. Mike wants to show the world that people like himself can play Trance too.

Mike is now doing an online show called "Universal Soundz" which is now broadcasted on 3 online radio stations: Party107, PureFM & SenseFM.
