If this song was on an album with decent production, it'd be regarded as one of their best songs. I mean, you can hear the clipping all over this one! Death Magnetic is definitely in need of a remix, if any album ever needed one more, I'm definitely not aware of it.

But... it did get a remaster, and it sounds good now. The version on iTunes and the band's website is remastered and sounds amazing. No physical copies have it for some reason though.

in 2008 people didnt hate the production. its like that time passes and technology denounces to us what could be better in retrospect

Remastered version sounds a lot better. The Guitar Hero remixes are probably still the definitive versions, but it's actually listenable now.

Believith thou me my Brother, there is One, Sad But True, Metallica.Their history and music is tied together. The previous album leads to the next with and threw the persona of their lives. So, let it be written, so let it be done, that on The Day that Never Comes will disclose Some Kind of Monster, that will last forever, Through the Never. Shoot Me Again, I ain't dead yet!

"Sounds like they tried making a sequel to One." Who cares? Both are great songs. [2]
