"Pieces of Us" is a song produced by Mark Ronson which features King Princess. It is the fifth single of Mark Ronson's fifth studio album, Late Night Feelings, and was released on June 17, 2019 through Sony. It is also King Princess' fifth single overall.

Mark Ronson had previously announced that Zelig Records counterpartKing Princess would be featured on his fifth studio album. In an interview with ABC on December 12, 2018 he confirmed that the name of their song would be "Pieces of Us".

A snippet of the song was posted to Ronson's Instagram on January 13, 2019. King Princess herself confirmed this track on February 4, 2019. Two more snippets of the song were released to Ronson's Instagram account on March 21, 2019.

Another snippet of the song was uploaded to Ronson's Instagram alongside the album's release date and pre-order on June 13, 2019.

On June 17, 2019 Ronson announced that BBC Radio 1 would make "Pieces of Us" their hottest record tonight and revealed that the song would be released straight after as the album's fifth single.

Ronson said the following about the song on Instagram:

“I don’t fuck with King Princess. As in, I don’t fuck with her music. As in, the music of King Princess is so wonderfully unique and in a world of its own that I don’t touch it. We’ve both figured out she’s better off having me as the label, cheerleader, occasional bouncing board, drum mic’er etc.. anyway. And it’s not for lack of trying. In the early days, we tried a couple of sessions. For some reason, it just didn’t work. maybe we’re both too stubborn, maybe we do too much of the same thing. doesn’t matter, we just figured out our dynamic early. doesn’t mean i don’t love her or her music any less. I just keep off the grass. I knew I needed her on Late Night Feelings tho so we tried a couple sessions. Maybe more than a couple. I would say at least 5 songs were written en route to 'Pieces of Us'. They weren’t bad, but they weren’t special. and I needed it to give me the feeling. The emo-tinged, sad banger thing— like when she sings 'did you mean it when you said i was pretty?' on '1950'. So we were all out in Shangri-La studios and me, Lykke and Ilsey were working in the main studio and her and Mike were down in the little shed studio working on some ideas. See, King Princess is a little too talented with her knowledge of chords, melodic gifts, and ableton prowess, she can fire up a decent tune in 15 minutes. So every 15 minutes, she’d hike up the hill to the main house and play me a new song idea. Looking at with me with a touch of excitement, eagerness which would quickly turn to mild annoyance when I told her it wasn’t quite the thing yet. And then she’d head back down the hill, more annoyed and go back to the drawing board. You see, I love Mikaela/KP and she was guaranteed a spot on the album next to Miley, Angel, Yebba etc… no matter what, but I wanted her to steal the show a little too. She’s the queen/king of my label, Zelig West. There’s something at stake here. Back to that night…so this might have happened two or three more times that night, her marching up the hill, new song in tow. me like, 'more heartbreak!' Finally, she came back with the first verse and chorus of 'Pieces of Us' - her and Mike had just written it on electric piano down in the shed and I was like 'daddy loves you'. It had everything I was asking her for…melancholy & soul. Plus, it sat in that magic, raspy part of her voice that I love. We were fucking around with it the next day and I found some drums for it, put a little slap bass on it (which Alissia later came in a replayed the shit out of it), and added a wild earth wind & fire chold change into the last chorus that nearly got vetoed. And with some last minute magic, Ilsey walked in and was like 'how about a bridge that goes - 'our love, our trust, no matter which way you cut it theeres pieces of us'?' Ah, the genius of Ilsey. So here it is, our first (and maybe only) tune.“

Clash stated that "'Pieces of Us' is a woozy tale of subtle limerence backed by distant, ethereal synths as King Princess croons, 'All of my love, swing and a miss when we talk'".

The song reached #24 on the Official New Zealand Music Chart.

The song received a music video on August 21, 2019 which was uploaded to Mark Ronson's Instagram story. It was uploaded to YouTube on August 30, 2019. The director of the video is unknown.
