I know it's a compilation, but if "A Young Person's Guide to Mark McGuire" was released on vinyl I would be supremely happy. I wonder if there is any chance, no matter how small, of this happening?

stumbling over his bandcamp made me realise that mark has a talent for creating dreadful but yet really trippy cover artwork for his other projects.

New EP sounds a lot like Steve Hauschildt. They should get together and form a ban... oh wait, nvm.

Along the Way is like Mark's version of "new age" music or something. It's not bad I suppose but it's not what my ears are wanting to hear at the moment.

I'm starting to enjoy the solo records more than anything Emeralds ever put out as a group. So many of the band's material seems unfocused, while stuff put out by Mark and Steve comes off as more coherent and ultimately more immediately enjoyable. I can see why some people would dig the abstraction of Emeralds, especially their earlier material (pre-2009), but albums like Tragedy & Geometry and A Young Person's Guide just hit that spot where most of the band's output failed to. /twocents
