“Homewrecker” is a track from Marina and the Diamonds’s sophomore studio album, Electra Heart.
From Amazon’s track-by-track analysis of the album, Marina talked about the song’s meaning:
“It’s about the power of an image: looking sweet whilst secretly being a total bitch and getting away with it!”
In a track-by-track interview about Electra Heart, Marina said:
"'Homewrecker’ is kind of a response to ‘Lies.’ In that, I think some people like to play the victim–for me, it’s quite embarrassing. And so I wanted to turn the tables and create a character-type that was more like the slayer than the slayed. Songs like ‘Bubblegum Bitch,’ ‘Homewrecker,’ and ‘Primadonna’ all go together in a trio.'"
